Buyer's Premium:

A UK George V florin, struck in 1936. The obverse features the left-facing portrait of King George V, with the circumscribed legend GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX. The reverse displays a cruciform arrangement of four crowned shields, representing the nations of the United Kingdom, separated by four scepters. The reverse legend reads FID · DEF IND · IMP 1936 · ONE FLORIN. The coin features a reeded edge. No hallmarks or stamped fineness marks are visible on the surfaces.

Condition report:

The coin shows signs of significant circulation and handling. The obverse exhibits heavy wear to the portrait, with particular flattening to the hair, ear, and crown details. The reverse shows wear to the high points of the shields and scepters. Scattered contact marks, fine surface scratches, and nicks are present on both faces. The surfaces display an uneven dark greyish-brown toning, concentrated around the legends and within the recessed areas of the design. No protective capsule or original packaging is supplied.
