Buyer's Premium:

This lot comprises a collection of UK pre-decimal coins presented in a red display mount within a clear plastic case. The set features a 1965 commemorative crown and a selection of circulating coinage from the period. The coins include a crown, half crown, florin, English shilling, Scottish shilling, sixpence, threepence, penny, and halfpenny. The cupro-nickel and bronze-toned coins feature the laureate bust of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse with the legend ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F. D. The reverse designs include the Churchill portrait on the crown, heraldic shields on the half crown, a Tudor rose, thistle, shamrock, and leek on the florin, and a golden hind on the halfpenny. The red card mount is printed in silver-toned ink with the title HALF CROWN COINAGE OF GREAT BRITAIN above an illustration of BUCKINGHAM PALACE. Each coin position is labelled with its respective denomination. No maker’s marks or manufacturer labels are visible on the packaging.

Condition report:

The coins appear in uncirculated condition, retaining original lustre. The crown shows light surface toning on the obverse (photo 1). The bronze penny and halfpenny exhibit typical natural darkening of the surfaces. The red display mount remains bright and the silver-toned printing is intact. The clear plastic outer case shows light storage-related scuffing and fine surface scratches (photo 1). The set is supplied in its original red mount and protective plastic case.
