Lot 123: UK 2012 Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Commemorative Banknote
A commemorative novelty banknote issued to mark the 60th anniversary of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. The note is printed in green and yellow tones, featuring a central photographic vignette of the 1953 Coronation and two later circular portraits of the monarch. The face of the note bears the printed legends THE UNITED KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITAIN and ONE JUBILEE POUND. The borders repeat the words POUND and ONE. The note is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity featuring a circular holographic security seal containing the numeric code 743360 and the words CERTIFIED, GENUINE, and ORIGINAL. The certificate includes the printed text QUEEN ELIZABETH II DIAMOND JUBILEE and states it is an official issue by the Kensington Mint, signed by S. MAL as Chairman. The items are presented in a black card folder with gold foil-stamped lettering reading DIAMOND JUBILEE 1952 60TH ANNIVERSARY 2012 LIMITED EDITION COMMEMORATIVE BANKNOTE.
Condition report:
The banknote is in uncirculated condition with no visible folds, creases, or handling marks. The Certificate of Authenticity is similarly well-preserved, and the holographic seal remains intact. The black presentation folder shows no signs of wear or corner bumping. The note and certificate are housed within protective plastic sleeves.
