Lot 121: A Pair of UK 2016 Queen Elizabeth II 90th Birthday Commemorative Rounds
A pair of commemorative rounds issued to mark the 90th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II. Each piece features a colorized photographic obverse depicting the monarch in a blue garment and a three-strand pearl necklace. The background includes a large numeral 90 and the struck inscription HER MAJESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH II. The reverse of each round is decorated with a central map of Europe overlaid on a globe, bordered by stylized jigsaw-piece scrolls. These scrolls bear the struck names of various European nations: BELGIQUE, BRITAIN, DEUTSCHLAND, DANMARK, FRANCE, LUXEMBURG, and NEDERLAND. The items are constructed from metal with a polished gold-toned finish. No denomination or official mint marks are visible on either piece. Each round is housed in a circular clear plastic protective capsule.

Both rounds are in uncirculated condition with no visible signs of wear or handling. The colorized obverse portraits are intact with bright, saturated hues. The gold-toned fields retain high luster on both the obverse and reverse surfaces. No toning, tarnish, or contact marks are visible through the capsules. Both items are supplied in their respective clear plastic protective cases.
