Lot 11: A Set of Seven Glass Wine Stems with Guilloché Etching
A set of seven glass wine stems featuring a slightly flared U-shaped bowl, a straight cylindrical stem, and a flat circular foot. Each bowl is decorated with a delicate machine-engraved or acid-etched guilloché band composed of interlocking and overlapping circles forming a continuous mesh-like pattern around the circumference. The glass is clear with a polished finish and thin rims. The construction involves a drawn or joined stem to the bowl and foot. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on any of the pieces.
Condition report:
The stems are in good condition. A small surface inclusion or mark is present in the glass of one bowl (photo 3). The rims and feet show no visible chips or cracks. There is no evidence of clouding or glass sickness. Minor shelf wear is visible to the undersides of the feet.
