Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £220

Estimated price: £250 - £350

Buyer's Premium:

A contemporary Raleigh Chopper bicycle, identified as The Hot One Special Edition. The bicycle features a red painted frame with a split top tube and characteristic high-rise ape hanger handlebars. The drivetrain consists of a 6-speed Shimano derailleur system operated by a twist-grip shifter on the right handlebar. The staggered wheel configuration comprises a smaller front wheel and a larger rear wheel, both fitted with black mudguards. Seating includes a primary saddle and a high-back sissy bar with a padded backrest, both upholstered with flame-motif graphics. The frame features several legible decals: the top plate is printed with THE HOT ONE above flame graphics, followed by CHOPPER and SPECIAL EDITION; the main tube bears the word CHOPPER in a stylised font; and the vertical tube and chain guard are marked RALEIGH and THE HOT ONE. A head tube badge features a stylised R and the name RALEIGH. The derailleur is marked SHIMANO, and the crank arm bears a circular blue and white logo featuring the letter B. The bicycle is fitted with front and rear V-brakes, a rear reflector mounted to the sissy bar, a front reflector, and a kickstand.

Condition report:

The bicycle shows signs of significant use and outdoor exposure. Heavy surface rust and oxidation are visible on the chain, rear cassette, sissy bar springs, rear mounting plates, and various bolts and fasteners throughout the frame (photos 3, 5, and 6). The red paintwork exhibits multiple scuffs, scratches, and chips, particularly along the top tubes and fork (photos 1 and 4). The rubber handlebar grips show heavy wear and weathering (photo 6). The black mudguards and frame show general surface dirt and road grime. Mechanical servicing of the drivetrain and braking system is recommended.
