Lot 95: A Zippo USA Metal Tobacco Tin, An American Classic
A Zippo metal tobacco tin, rectangular in form with rounded corners and a friction-fit lid. The lid features a lithographed black finish with the repeated white printed legend MADE IN THE USA LIFETIME GUARANTEE MADE IN THE USA. The central decoration consists of a line drawing of a lighter with a raised red flame application. The lid also bears the red script legend AN AMERICAN CLASSIC and a large ZIPPO logo with a red flame above the letter I. The base and the perimeter of the lid exhibit a gold-tone finish. No further maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The tin shows signs of handling and surface wear. There are visible light scratches and rubbing to the gold-tone finish on the base and lid edges. The printed surface of the lid exhibits minor scuffing and small spots of finish loss, primarily along the upper edge. The interior displays light oxidation and surface marks. No lighter is included with this item.
