Lot 94: A 2002 Zippo Snap-on Pocket Lighter with Display Stand
A 2002 Zippo pocket lighter, featuring a rectangular form with a hinged lid. The lighter is constructed from metal with a brushed finish on the front and back faces and polished side edges. The front face is printed with the SNAP-ON logo in red lettering with a registered trademark symbol. The base of the lighter is struck with the letter C to the left and the digits 02 to the right of a stylised ZIPPO logo. Below this, the strike reads BRADFORD, PA. MADE IN U.S.A. The lighter is held within a two-part black plastic display stand, the top of which features gold-toned raised lettering reading ZIPPO U.S.A. LIGHTER. The interior mechanism features a flint wheel and a chimney containing a charred wick, with the ZIPPO logo visible on the side of the insert. No other maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The lighter shows signs of use and handling. The exterior metal surfaces exhibit light surface scratches and scuffing, particularly on the polished side edges (photo 1). The red SNAP-ON graphic is largely intact. The interior mechanism shows evidence of firing, with carbon residue and charring visible inside the chimney and lid (photo 2). The plastic display stand is present and shows minor scuffs and surface dust.
