Lot 43: A 1996 Maisto Special Edition Jaguar XK8 Model Car, boxed
A 1996 model car representing a Jaguar XK8 convertible in 1:18 scale, produced by Maisto as part of the Special Edition series. The car is constructed from metal and plastic, featuring a metallic blue exterior and a tan interior. The open cockpit design displays detailed cream-coloured seating, a dashboard, and a steering wheel. The vehicle is mounted on a black plastic display stand which includes a gold-toned adhesive label reading MAISTO® JAGUAR XK8 (1996). The model is housed in its original black and gold window box, which is printed with SPECIAL EDITION, JAGUAR XK8 1:18, and MAISTO® SPECIAL EDITION. No other maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible.
Condition report:
The model appears in excellent condition, with the blue finish retaining a high gloss and no visible damage to the bodywork or fittings. The interior and wheels are intact as viewed through the display window (photo 1). The original packaging shows moderate shelf wear, including creasing to the cardboard edges and minor scuffing (photo 3). The clear plastic window has accumulated surface dust and displays light scratches (photo 1).
