Lot 125: A Composite Figurine of a Singing Angel in a Long Coat
A composite figurine of a singing angel, of stylised form. The figure is depicted wearing a long coat featuring four buttons and two front pockets. The angel’s eyes are closed and the mouth is open in a vocalising pose, with hands held to the face. Small, textured wings are positioned on the upper back, and the hair is detailed with deep, swept-back grooves. The item is finished in a cream colour with a dark antiquing wash applied to the recesses to highlight the moulded detail. The base is flat and unadorned. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The figurine is in good condition with minor signs of handling. Small dark specks are present within the material and surface dust is visible in the recesses (photo 1). The flat base shows light surface scuffing consistent with display (photo 4). There are no visible chips, cracks, or repairs.
