This lot comprises a collection of paper banknotes issued by the Russian Provisional Government in 1917. The group includes several 1000 Ruble notes, featuring a central vignette of the Tauride Palace within a multicoloured guilloche pattern in green, pink, and tan. These notes bear the printed legend ГОСУДАРСТВЕННАЯ ДУМА within a cartouche beneath the palace. The 250 Ruble notes are printed in pinkish-brown and green tones, featuring a bicephalous eagle positioned over a background pattern incorporating swastika-like symbols. The reverse of the 250 Ruble notes includes the printed date 1917 along with the titles УПРАВЛЯЮЩІЙ and КАССИРЪ accompanied by facsimile signatures. Serial numbers visible on the 250 Ruble specimens include АА-002 and АБ-122. The notes are not housed in third-party grading capsules. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the banknotes.

Condition report:

The banknotes show varying signs of circulation, including prominent vertical and horizontal folds and rounded corners across the collection (photo 1). Several 1000 Ruble notes exhibit soft folding and minor edge wear (photo 3). One 250 Ruble note displays significant brown staining and foxing concentrated on the right side of the paper (photo 1, 2). General paper toning and small nicks to the margins are present on all specimens. The notes are supplied without protective sleeves or cases.
