Lot 58: APMEX 1/2 Troy Ounce .999 Fine Silver Round
A silver bullion round struck in .999 fine silver. The obverse features the stylised APMEX logo positioned above the inscription AMERICAN PRECIOUS METALS EXCHANGE and the website address WWW.APMEX.COM. The weight is transcribed along the upper rim as 1/2 TROY OUNCE, with the purity .999 FINE SILVER struck along the lower rim. The reverse depicts a heraldic eagle with wings spread, perched upon a shield featuring stars and stripes, clutching arrows and an olive branch. The design is encircled by the text AMERICAN PRECIOUS METALS EXCHANGE and 1/2 TROY OUNCE, with .999 FINE struck above the eagle’s head. The round is finished with a reeded edge.

Condition report:
The silver round shows signs of environmental exposure and handling. The obverse displays numerous fine surface scratches, minor contact marks, and areas of dark toning, particularly within the recessed lettering and near the rim (photo 1). The reverse shows similar surface wear and oxidation spots across the eagle motif and outer fields (photo 2). No protective capsule or case is supplied.
