The reverse features four crowned shields arranged in a cruciform pattern representing England, Scotland, and Ireland, with four scepters placed in the angles and a central Garter star. The legend reads BRITT: REG: 1889 FID: DEF:. Struck in .925 sterling silver with a milled edge. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.

Condition report:

The coin shows signs of circulation wear and surface handling. The obverse exhibits Fine to Very Fine details with numerous fine surface hairlines and scratches across the fields and portrait, consistent with harsh cleaning. Darker toning is present in the deeper recesses of the crown and lettering. The reverse shows similar wear to the design elements. There is a distinct contact mark on the lower shield and evidence of surface cleaning with a brushed appearance. Toning is visible around the central star and the scepter heads. The coin is not supplied with a protective capsule or case.
