Lot 38: UK 2000 Millennium Silver Five Pounds Coin

A 2000 commemorative coin, of crown-sized form with selective gilding. The reverse features a clock face design with the minute hand sweeping between the numerals 1999 and 2000. The central gilded map of the British Isles is inscribed with the legend ANNO DOMINI. The denomination FIVE POUNDS is struck along the lower rim. The obverse features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, inscribed with the legend ELIZABETH II D G REG F D. The coin is housed in a clear protective plastic capsule and presented in a blue velvet-lined case. The accompanying booklet and outer card slipcase bear the printed text MILLENNIUM 2000 SILVER PROOF CROWN and SILVER PROOF CROWN.
