Lot 173: USA American Prospector .999 Fine Copper One Ounce Round
A USA .999 fine copper bullion round, featuring the American Prospector design. The obverse depicts a kneeling figure in a wide-brimmed hat, panning for gold in a riverbed setting. The arched legend AMERICAN PROSPECTOR is struck along the upper rim. The reverse features a heraldic eagle with outspread wings, bearing a shield upon its breast and clutching an olive branch and three arrows in its talons. The legend COPPER .999 FINE is struck along the upper rim, with USA positioned above the eagle’s head. The weight ONE A.V.D.P OUNCE is struck along the lower rim. The round has a reeded edge and a bright, reflective finish. No private mint marks or signatures are visible.

Condition report:
The round exhibits a brilliant finish with minor evidence of environmental exposure and handling. The obverse shows minor surface abrasions and several small dark oxidation spots visible in the fields to the left and right of the central figure (photo 1). The reverse retains a bright finish with occasional fine surface scratches and minor handling marks (photo 2). No protective capsule or original packaging is present.
