Lot 107: A Coin Cabinet with a Collection of Trays
A coin cabinet of rectangular form with a polished finish. The cabinet features a hinged lid secured by a metal flip-clasp and a rear piano hinge. The interior lid is decorated with a circular metal inlay featuring a black device of a castle with three turrets and a central doorway. The interior is fitted with a collection of removable trays, each containing six circular recesses with a red lining. The base of the cabinet is also fitted with a red lining and includes a partitioned side compartment with a divider block. No maker’s names, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The cabinet shows signs of light use and environmental exposure. The exterior displays minor surface scuffing and light wear. The metal hardware exhibits slight oxidation. The internal red lining is clean and appears well-preserved across the trays and the main compartment.
