A Gothic Revival cast iron fire grate, featuring a central basket formed from eleven curved horizontal bars. The structure is supported by heavy-gauge vertical uprights, with the two front posts decorated with architectural trefoil-style motifs and topped with fleur-de-lis finials. The back edge of the grate features four smaller vertical spikes, and the two rear legs are of plain, squared form. The horizontal bars are bent at multiple angles to provide a recessed central area for fuel. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.

Condition report:
The item shows signs of heavy environmental exposure and use. Extensive surface oxidation, rust, and pitting are present across the horizontal bars and upright supports (photo 1). The structural components appear intact with no evidence of cracks or missing sections (photo 2). Significant corrosion and material loss to the surface are visible on the interior surfaces of the basket (photo 3). No original packaging or accessories are present.
