This lot comprises two sets of cork-backed hardboard table accessories. The first is a boxed set of six placemats and six matching coasters produced by Marks & Spencer, featuring a central stylised Christmas tree within a diamond-shaped decorative border on a cream ground with a festive ribbon and holly leaf perimeter. A label on the clear plastic packaging is printed MARKS & SPENCER and 6 PLACEMATS 6 COASTERS. The second set contains six coasters by Win-El-Ware, housed in a fitted presentation box. These items depict traditional 1800s English tavern and inn scenes in a Dickensian style. A yellow adhesive label on one coaster reads WIN-EL-WARE, TABLE MATS, A WIN-EL PRODUCT, MADE IN ENGLAND. No other maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the items.
Condition report:
The Marks & Spencer set remains in its original clear plastic packaging and appears unused (photo 1). The Win-El-Ware coasters are in good condition with no visible surface damage. The cardboard presentation box for the tavern scenes shows visible wear including scuffing and minor tears to the exterior edges and corners (photo 1).
