A pair of framed offset lithographic prints after original illustrations by Ronald Embleton, depicting nostalgic scenes of traditional British street games. One print is titled HI! JIMMY KNACKER and the other EGGY PEGGY, with the titles printed in capital letters in the lower margins. The compositions feature groups of children in early 20th-century attire playing games against urban brick and stone backdrops. Each print bears a printed signature in the lower left corner reading RONALD EMBLETON. The prints are housed in dark-toned frames with decorative gilt-patterned inner borders and are set behind glass. No edition numbers or publishers marks are present.
Condition report:
The prints show signs of environmental exposure and age-related toning. The paper stock across both works exhibits a general yellowed appearance. The lower print, titled EGGY PEGGY, shows several prominent areas of brown foxing and spotting concentrated in the lower margin (photo 1 and photo 2). The frames show minor scuffs and losses to the finish at the corners and along the edges (photo 1).
