A trefoil coin brooch, featuring three silver coins from the Princely State of Hyderabad arranged in a shamrock motif. The coins are of 800 silver fineness. The obverses display Persian script legends including the titles NIZAM, ASAF JAH, and BAHADUR, with a partial date beginning 13. The reverse of each coin bears the legend ZARB HYDERABAD and FARKHUNDA BUNYAD, with one coin displaying the regnal year 41. The coins are soldered at a central point beneath a polished domed boss, with a curved wire stem attached at the base. The reverse is fitted with a horizontal metal pin and a C-clasp mechanism. No maker’s marks or fineness hallmarks are visible on the brooch mount.
Condition report:
The brooch shows signs of environmental exposure and oxidation. The obverses exhibit dark tarnish and toning, with the right-hand coin showing a distinct yellowish-green surface patination. The reverses show heavy oxidation and visible solder joins. The pin mechanism is functional but shows slight deformation. No box or protective case is included.
