Printed text below the image reads ANNIVERSARY OF THE BATTLE OF THE ALMA, SEPT. 20, 1854: DECORATING THE QUEEN’S COLOUR AT ST. JAMES’S PALACE. The print is signed WALTER WILSON R.I. within the plate at the lower right corner. The work is set behind glass with a cream mount featuring ruled borders. The campaign-style frame is constructed from wood with four metal corner brackets secured by studs. No other maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.

Condition report:
The print displays even age-toning and well-preserved colours (photo 1). The mount shows light spotting across the surface (photo 1). The frame is structurally sound with minor surface scuffs to the wood and patination to the metal corner mounts (photo 1). The glass is intact.
