Buyer's Premium:

This lot comprises a set of two cut glass salt cellars and two matching 925 silver salt spoons, presented in a retail case. The circular cellars feature heavy glass bodies with deep starburst and geometric cutting, finished with plain 925 silver collars. Each collar bears four struck hallmark punches: an illegible maker’s mark, a lion passant, an anchor, and a lowercase letter ‘q’ within a shield. The two matching 925 silver spoons feature circular bowls, twisted stems, and ball finials. The stems are struck with four hallmark punches: ‘H&H’, a lion passant, an anchor, and a lowercase letter ‘q’ within a shield. The items are housed in a black leatherette-covered box with a blue velvet-lined base and a blue satin-lined lid. The lid interior is gilt-stamped with a label reading HALL MARKED SILVER MADE IN ENGLAND.

Condition report:

The 925 silver collars and spoons show significant surface tarnish and oxidation, particularly within the spoon bowls (photo 3). The glass bodies show no visible chips, cracks, or large abrasions. The exterior presentation case shows minor scuffing to the corners and edges (photo 1). The interior satin lining is crumpled and shows light discoloration (photo 1). The metal thumb-latch to the front of the case is heavily tarnished (photo 1). Supplied in original retail presentation case.
