This lot comprises a collection of five commemorative items issued by the UK between 1953 and 1994. The group includes a metal commemorative medal housed in an arched red plastic case with a printed legend reading CAERNARFON CASTLE. The medal features the legend CHARLES PRINCE OF WALES 25th ANNIVERSARY 1969-1994 on the obverse, while the reverse features the Prince of Wales’s feathers and the motto ICH DIEN. Two coins are presented in card mounts: a 1981 coin depicting the jugate portraits of H.R.H. THE PRINCE OF WALES AND LADY DIANA SPENCER in a blue card mount inscribed ROYAL WEDDING COMMEMORATIVE CROWN, and a 1977 coin commemorating the SILVER JUBILEE in a purple card mount. Two further loose coins include a 1960 issue featuring four cruciform shields and a 1953 issue depicting the Coronation regalia including the ampulla and anointing spoon. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the coins.
Condition report:
The coins and medal show signs of environmental exposure and handling. The loose 1960 and 1953 coins exhibit surface toning and light contact marks to both the obverses and reverses. The 1977 and 1981 coins retain original luster within their respective card mounts, with minor dust accumulation visible inside the packaging. The red plastic case for the medal shows minor surface scuffing to the exterior. The medal itself appears to be in uncirculated condition within the case.
