A seven-sided commemorative coin, of equilateral curve heptagon form, issued as part of the London 2012 sports collection celebrating boxing. The reverse design features a pair of boxing gloves suspended against a background of ring ropes. Legible inscriptions on the reverse include the LONDON 2012 Olympic logo at the top and the denomination 50 PENCE at the base. The coin is housed in its original illustrative presentation card featuring a stylised graphic of a boxer in pink and green. The card is printed with the text LONDON 2012 SPORTS COLLECTION and BOXING, alongside the official LONDON 2012 logo. No maker’s marks, signatures, or metal fineness stamps are visible on the item or its packaging.
Condition report:
The coin is in brilliant uncirculated condition, exhibiting strong original luster and a sharp strike. The reverse shows no visible contact marks or signs of circulation. The obverse is not visible as it is encased within the presentation card. The original presentation card remains in good condition, showing only very minor shelf wear at the corners.
