Buyer's Premium:

A UK crown, dated 1937, featuring the portrait of King George VI. The obverse bears a left-facing bare-headed bust of the monarch, surrounded by the legend GEORGIVS VI D : G : BR : OMN : REX and the initials HP below the neck. The reverse displays the Royal Arms with lion and unicorn supporters, surmounted by a crown, and the legend FID : DEF : IND : IMP : CROWN : 1937 . The motto DIEU ET MON DROIT is inscribed on a scroll at the base, alongside the initials K G. The edge is decorated with the incuse characters X X I N G E R I O N X. The coin is of white metal construction. No hallmarks or fineness stamps are visible on the item.


Condition report:

The coin shows signs of handling and environmental exposure. The obverse displays light wear to the high points of the portrait\'s hair and ear, with fine surface scratches and contact marks (photo 2). The reverse exhibits wear to the heraldic details, including the lion\'s mane and the unicorn\'s horn, and shows golden-grey toning (photo 1). The edge features manually applied incuse lettering of irregular depth (photo 3). No protective case or packaging is present.
