Buyer's Premium:

This lot comprises a collection of vintage hardback and paperback books, primarily featuring works by P.G. Wodehouse and Captain W.E. Johns. The P.G. Wodehouse selection includes hardcovers such as JOY IN THE MORNING, BILL THE CONQUEROR, and GALAHAD AT BLANDINGS, alongside a group of Penguin paperbacks with orange spines, including titles like PIGS HAVE WINGS, BLANDINGS CASTLE, and MONEY IN THE BANK. The Captain W.E. Johns section includes THE BEST OF BIGGLES: FIVE THRILLING ADVENTURES published by DEAN AND SON LTD, and smaller volumes including BIGGLES IN SPAIN and BIGGLES FLIES EAST published by HODDER AND STOUGHTON. The collection also contains Richmal Crompton titles such as WILLIAM AT WAR and WILLIAM AND A.R.P. published by NEWNES, and three volumes of THE PEOPLE’S FRIEND by D.C. THOMSON AND CO. LTD. No signatures, ownership labels, or additional inscriptions are visible on the spines or covers shown.

Condition report:

The collection shows signs of significant age and handling throughout. The small Captain W.E. Johns volumes exhibit heavily faded, soiled, and frayed spines. Most hardcovers lack their original dust jackets and show edge wear, rubbing, and spine fading. The Penguin paperbacks demonstrate noticeable age-toning and yellowing to the page edges and spines, with some creasing to the covers. The dust jacket for THE BEST OF BIGGLES has visible edge wear and minor tearing at the extremities.
