A bottle vase, of elongated teardrop form tapering to a long slender neck with a flat rim. The vessel features a burnished off-white surface decorated using horsehair firing techniques. This process has produced fine, carbonised black lines and broader areas of smoky-grey carbon clouding across the mid-section and base. The base is flat with an incised circular mark containing three nested upward-curving arcs. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item. The vessel is constructed with a smooth, polished exterior finish that contrasts with the organic, carbon-infused decorative patterns.
Condition report:
The vase appears in excellent original condition. No chips, cracks, or repairs are visible (photo 1). The base shows minor surface variations and carbon spotting consistent with the alternative firing process (photo 2).
