This lot comprises a pair of marine navigation side lights. Each unit is of cylindrical form, constructed from metal with a plated finish, featuring a circular flanged base with pre-drilled holes for deck mounting. The lights are fitted with segmented glass lenses; one unit contains a red and a clear lens, while the other features a teal blue and a clear lens. The interior of each housing contains a dual-contact bayonet-style bulb socket. The exterior surface of each screw-on cap features the raised cast legend POWELL BOATS. One cap is shown removed, revealing cast characters HP over 347 to the underside. No other maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the items.
Condition report:
The items show signs of extensive environmental exposure, oxidation, and material degradation. The plated metal surfaces exhibit widespread pitting, bubbling, and peeling across the caps, bodies, and bases (photo 1, photo 3). Significant oxidation and mineral deposits are present within the interiors and on the mounting flanges (photo 2). One teal glass lens is shattered with substantial loss (photo 2), while the remaining lenses show surface scratching and wear. The internal electrical components exhibit corrosion and remain untested (photo 2). The screw threads on the removed cap appear worn but remain functional (photo 3).
