A Late 20th Century extending dining suite, comprising a veneered wood dining table and six matching chairs. The table features a D-end top with a decorative moulded edge and a mahogany-coloured finish, supported by a central turned pedestal terminating in four splayed cabriole legs with incised detailing and scroll feet. The underside reveals a sliding mechanism to accommodate a single leaf extension. Each chair is designed with a curved balloon-style backrest containing three shaped vertical splats. The drop-in seats are upholstered in a cream textile decorated with a large-scale botanical pattern in grey and black. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the table or chairs.
Condition report:
The dining suite shows signs of domestic use. The table top displays minor surface scratches, light scuffs, and small white impact nicks (photo 4). The pedestal and legs show minor wear and small scuffs, particularly concentrated around the feet (photo 3). The wooden chair frames exhibit light, localised wear to the finish on the edges and corners (photo 2). The upholstery appears clean and in good condition with no visible stains, fraying, or tears (photo 1).
