Buyer's Premium:

This lot comprises a collection of UK dodecagonal three-pence coins, featuring issues from the reigns of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II. The coins are of twelve-sided form and exhibit two distinct reverse designs: a thrift plant with three flower heads and a crowned portcullis with chains. The obverse of the George VI issues bears the legend GEORGIVS VI D: G: BR: OMN: REX F: D: IND: IMP, while the Elizabeth II issues bear ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F: D: +. Visible dates on the reverse faces include 1941, 1942, 1943, 1944, 1948, 1953, 1961, and 1967. The coins exhibit varying degrees of surface toning and wear. No maker’s marks, fineness stamps, or struck material inscriptions are visible on the coins.

Condition report:

The coins show signs of environmental exposure and circulated handling. On the obverse faces, the portraits exhibit softened details and numerous small contact marks and fine surface scratches. The reverse faces show similar wear to the motifs and legends, with visible dark oxidation and toning across the collection. Several coins exhibit minor edge nicks and surface debris. No protective cases or original packaging are supplied.
