A UK 1911 silver coin, being a one shilling piece. The obverse features the right-facing profile of King Edward VII, circumscribed by the legend EDWARDVS VII DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX. The initials DES are struck below the neck truncation. The reverse displays the Royal Crest, a lion passant guardant standing atop a crown, with the legend FID: DEF: IND: IMP: above and ONE SHILLING below. The date is split by the base of the crown as 19 and 11. The coin is finished with a reeded edge. No fineness or hallmark is struck on the surface.
Condition report:
The coin shows signs of environmental exposure and handling. The obverse exhibits moderate wear to the portrait, accompanied by dark oxidation spots and numerous fine contact marks across the surfaces. The reverse shows similar wear to the lion and crown, with uneven toning and tarnish visible around the legends and date. The rim displays small contact marks and wear. No protective capsule or original packaging is supplied.
