Coins, Gold & Silver Bullion Auction
A rectangular bullion bar struck in 999.9 fine gold. The obverse features a standing figure of Britannia in classical attire, holding a trident in her right hand and resting her left on a shield depicting the Union Jack flag. The figure stands before a vertically oriented inscription reading BRITANNIA. Below the figure is a circular logo containing two runic characters resembling a P and an M above a three-lobed triskele symbol, followed by the text WESSEX MINT, the weight 1/200TH OZ, and the fineness 999.9 FINE GOLD. The reverse displays a repeating diagonal lattice pattern centred by the circular Wessex Mint logo.
Weight: 1/200th oz t (approximately 0.156g).
Condition report:
The bar shows signs of handling and light environmental exposure. The obverse displays several minor surface scratches and small dark specks of particulate matter across the polished field and Britannia motif (photo 1). The reverse retains a reflective finish with minor surface contact marks visible on the lattice pattern (photo 2). No original packaging or protective capsule is present.
