The left field bears the vertical inscription BAILIWICK OF JERSEY, while the right field is inscribed ELIZABETH II, FIFTY PENCE, and the date 2016. The reverse depicts a scene from the Bayeux Tapestry representing the death of King Harold II, surmounted by the Latin legend HIC HAROLD REX INTERFECTUS EST. The coin is presented in a rectangular clear plastic capsule with a black foam insert. No hallmarks, fineness stamps, or maker’s marks are visible on the item or its packaging.
Condition report:
The coin shows signs of environmental exposure and handling. The obverse displays dark peripheral toning and tarnish, with a small patch of orange-brown residue near the left edge (photo 1). The reverse exhibits significant mottled toning and surface discolouration across the central design and fields (photo 2). The coin is housed in a protective clear plastic capsule.
