Coins, Gold & Silver Bullion Auction
This lot comprises a pair of United Kingdom heptagonal 50 pence coins from the London 2012 sports collection, each presented on its original colour-coded display card. The first coin features the BOXING reverse design, featuring the LONDON 2012 logo and the denomination 50 PENCE. The second coin features the TAEKWONDO reverse design, similarly featuring the LONDON 2012 logo and the denomination 50 PENCE. Both coins are mounted within presentation cards inscribed with the text LONDON 2012 SPORTS COLLECTION, the official LONDON 2012 logo, and the names of the respective sports: BOXING and TAEKWONDO. The obverse faces of the coins are mounted within the cards and are not visible. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The coins appear to be in uncirculated condition and are housed within their original protective packaging. Obverse: Not visible. Reverse (Boxing): Bright and clear strike with no visible contact marks or toning (Photo 1). Reverse (Taekwondo): Bright and clear strike with no visible contact marks or toning (Photo 1). Packaging: The display cards exhibit minor shelf wear, including slight softening to the corners and light wear along the edges (Photo 1).
