A battery-operated toy locomotive and matching tender produced by Tomy for the Thomas and Friends range, depicting the character Donald. The locomotive is constructed from moulded plastic and finished in a black livery with a red front buffer beam. It features the character’s signature grey face, white plastic side rods, and black wheels. A white slide switch is positioned on the cab roof with moulded text reading OFF – ON. The locomotive carries a red rectangular nameplate sticker on each side with yellow serif lettering reading Donald. The matching six-wheeled tender includes a moulded coal load and features rectangular stickers on both sides with the numeral 9 in yellow, bordered in red and white.
Condition report:
The item is in play-worn condition with significant dust accumulation in the crevices and details of both units. The plastic surfaces exhibit minor scuffs and surface scratches consistent with use. Original applied stickers show light wear and lifting at the edges. The locomotive face has some ingrained grime. The mechanism has not been tested for functionality and the battery compartment has not been opened for inspection.
