A pair of porcelain baluster-form vases decorated in the Imari palette, featuring underglaze cobalt blue and overglaze iron-red enamels with gilding. The decorative scheme consists of lobed cartouches containing floral arrangements in vessels, set against a dense ground of foliate scrolls and flowers. The flared rims have gilded edges and internal floral borders. Each base displays a red stamped square seal mark for Hizen Arita, with a secondary smaller red square mark containing the digits 7 and 5.

Condition report:
The vases are in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or restorations. There is noticeable rubbing and wear to the gilding, particularly on the top rims and the raised portions of the body decoration. The glaze exhibits minor surface pitting, pinholes, and small black specks of kiln dust, typical for production of this period. The unglazed foot rims show moderate shelf wear and minor discolouration.
