A naturalistically modelled figurine of a male ring-necked pheasant, depicted in a standing posture with an open beak. The piece features detailed plumage, red facial wattles, and a white neck ring, all finished with hand-painted decoration and a matte surface. The figure is set upon a textured ground which is mounted to a stepped, oval polished plinth. A relief mark reading G.U. is present on the textured base near the bird’s foot. No maker’s names, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
Height: 20cm – 22cm
Length: 30cm – 35cm.
Condition report:
The figurine shows minimal signs of wear and remains in a well-preserved state. The delicate tail feathers and open beak are intact with no visible signs of repair (photo 1, photo 3). Minor surface scuffing is present on the edges of the polished base (photo 1).
