A large rectangular wall mirror designed in the neoclassical style. The wide frame is constructed from a moulded composite material with an antiqued gilt finish. It features a broad outer border of high-relief scrolling foliage and acanthus leaves, leading to a central flat band and an inner border decorated with a repetitive scallop and bead motif. The clear mirror plate is characterised by a double-stepped bevelled design, including a primary outer bevel and a secondary recessed bevelled border. There are no maker’s marks, labels, or signatures visible on the face of the item. The back of the mirror was not photographed.
Condition report:
The frame shows minor surface wear and light dust within the decorative mouldings (photo 2). The mirror plate appears to be in excellent decorative condition with no visible scratches, clouding, or silvering loss (photo 1).
