A UK heptagonal 50 pence coin struck in cupro-nickel, issued as part of the London 2012 sports collection to commemorate the sport of Taekwondo. The reverse features a design depicting two athletes in combat, with one performing a kick, situated below a logo containing the text london 2012 and the Olympic rings. The denomination 50 PENCE is inscribed along the lower edge. The coin is housed in a dedicated presentation card with a purple and teal geometric design. The card is printed with the white text London 2012 sports collection and the word Taekwondo in a pink stylized script. An additional london 2012 logo is printed in the lower right corner of the card. The obverse of the coin is not visible within the packaging.
Condition report:
The coin appears in brilliant uncirculated condition with no visible surface marks or contact wear (photo 1). The original presentation card exhibits minor shelf wear, including slight bumping to the corners and a small horizontal crease at the top centre edge (photo 1).
