This dragonfly brooch is crafted from 925 silver and features a stylized insect motif. The piece is designed with four openwork wings decorated with intricate filigree wirework in scrolling patterns. The central body is segmented, leading to a head with two small antennae and a tapered tail. The reverse of the brooch is fitted with a horizontal pin stem, a simple hinge, and a C-clasp mechanism. A small rectangular hallmark is stamped on the underside of the tail section, though the specific characters are not clearly distinguishable. The construction utilizes fine gauge silver wire soldered within a sturdier outer frame to create the delicate wing patterns.

Condition report:
The brooch is in good condition showing signs of age and wear. There is significant tarnish and oxidation present, most notably in the recessed areas of the filigree work and along the textured segments of the body. The silver surface displays fine hairline scratches and minor abrasions. The pin stem has a slight curve but is fully functional and secures into the clasp. The filigree wirework is intact with no visible breaks, losses, or repairs.
