UK 2005 silver proof two-pound coin issued by the Royal Mint to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. The piece is struck in .925 sterling silver with a gold-plated outer ring. The reverse design by Robert Elderton features the St Paul’s Cathedral motif and is inscribed TWO POUNDS and 1945 – 2005. The obverse features the fourth coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley. The coin is housed in its original clear acrylic capsule and presented within a green Royal Mint display box with a black velvet-effect insert. The lot includes the original blue printed information card inscribed THE END OF WWII 1945-2005 60th ANNIVERSARY and £2 Silver Proof Coin.


Condition report:

The coin remains in its original as-struck proof condition with no visible signs of wear, marks, or toning. The acrylic capsule and original presentation packaging appear to be in excellent condition.
