A United Kingdom 2000 Millennium commemorative silver proof crown issued by the Royal Mint. The coin is struck in .925 sterling silver with selective gold plating to the central reverse motif. The reverse features the Jeffery Matthews design depicting a map of the British Isles and a clock face set to midnight, inscribed with the dates 1999 and 2000, the denomination FIVE POUNDS, and the Latin legend ANNO DOMINI. The obverse features the fourth portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley. This lot includes the coin in its original circular acrylic capsule, presented in a Royal Mint blue velvet-lined display case with the matching blue outer sleeve and descriptive Millennium 2000 booklet.
Condition report:
Uncirculated proof strike. The coin exhibits natural brownish toning and tarnish to the silver outer ring, most notably near the rim at the 9 o\'clock position on the reverse. The presentation packaging is in good condition with minor shelf wear to the edges of the outer card sleeve.
