Buyer's Premium:

This philatelic numismatic cover (PNC) was issued by Westminster to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the United Kingdom’s transition to decimal currency in 1971. The centerpiece of the cover is a Guernsey 2021 silver proof five pound coin, the reverse of which features a conversion table between pre-decimal shillings/pence and new pence. The cover is franked with two Great Britain stamps: a 1960 1½d green Wilding definitive (SG 573) and a red 1st Class Machin definitive. Both stamps are cancelled with commemorative anniversary postmarks dated 15 February 2021. The left cancellation features a large 50 numeral with a Poole return address, while the right cancellation depicts a mechanical cash register inscribed Threadneedle St., London, EC2. The cover is housed in a clear protective sleeve within a black presentation folder embossed with a gold portcullis logo. It is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Stephen Allen, Chairman of Westminster, confirming the item is number 105 of a limited worldwide edition of 250.

Condition report:

The item is in excellent, as-issued condition. The cover and Certificate of Authenticity are free from any foxing, staining, or creasing. The silver proof coin is in pristine condition with no visible toning or handling marks. The presentation folder is well-preserved.
