Buyer's Premium:

An American Waltham Watch Co. Model 1883 Grade No. 1 pocket watch, dating to approximately 1888. This 18-size timekeeper features a manual, key-wind and key-set full plate gilt movement, engraved with Waltham, Mass., Safety Pinion, and serial number 3836762. The watch is presented with a white enamel dial displaying black Roman numeral hour markers, an outer minute track, and a recessed sub-dial for seconds at the 6 o’clock position, complemented by blue steel spade hands. The movement is housed within an engine-turned 925 silver case, featuring a circular vacant cartouche to the reverse. The interior of the case lid is stamped with a 925 silver hallmark and bears various hand-scratched watchmaker service marks, including 79588.
Movement size: 18s (approx. 44.86mm)
Case diameter: approx. 50mm – 55mm.

Condition report:

The enamel dial shows significant hairline cracks radiating from the centre towards the 1, 10, and 11 o\'clock positions. The 925 silver case displays general surface wear, scratches, and tarnish consistent with age, with some smoothing to the engine-turned decoration. The movement appears clean and complete but remains untested for functionality; no winding key is included. The crystal is intact with light surface scratches.
