Lot 206: A Pair of British Army No. 2 Dress Uniform Garments to a Corporal
A British Army No. 2 Dress uniform manufactured by J. Compton, Sons & Webb Ltd. The set comprises a fawn wool tunic and matching trousers. The tunic features a notched lapel, shoulder straps, and four front pockets with button-down flaps. It is fitted with brass General Service buttons featuring the Royal Coat of Arms. Both sleeves bear Corporal rank chevrons in silver-grey embroidery on a khaki wool ground. The interior tunic label is legible and includes the manufacturer name, contract number SL33A/3824, and the handwritten name Newberry. The matching trousers are designed with a zip fly, internal brace buttons, and a straight-leg cut.
