Lot 176: A Collection of Decorative Figurines and Ornaments including a Tom Clark Gnome and Teddy Bear Picture Frame
An assortment of decorative items comprising various figurines, a picture frame, and ceramic ornaments. The collection includes a resin gnome figurine by Tom Clark, specifically the character Chick, depicted seated on a woodland base with mushrooms. Also present is a larger painted gnome figurine in a red conical hat and blue jacket, alongside a vintage ceramic pixie figurine in a reclining pose, wearing a red hat and blue top. The lot features a resin double-aperture picture frame decorated with two anthropomorphic teddy bears wearing a dress and a jumper respectively, flanking an oval and a rectangular opening. Further figurines include an elderly man playing a fiddle, a barefoot boy holding fruit, two smaller bears dressed in waistcoats and trousers, and a sheep with a heavily textured popcorn-style finish. Additional items include a blue and white striped ceramic animal figurine with hand-painted floral motifs, a lidded trinket jar with green and white geometric patterns and a star finial, and two miniature yellow-glazed ceramic mugs featuring black transfer prints of vintage motor cars. Materials include painted cold-cast resin, glazed ceramic, and bisque porcelain. The pixie figurine is stamped FOREIGN in red ink to the underside.
Condition report:
The items are in used condition with signs of age and handling throughout. The larger painted gnome figurine shows significant paint flaking and loss to the red hat. The pixie figurine has minor rubbing to the base and high points of the glaze. The resin picture frame displays light surface dust in the textured areas and lacks glass or backing for the apertures. General wear includes minor surface grime and small scattered paint chips consistent with shelf-worn decorative items. The resin figurines appear structurally sound with no major breaks or repairs visible.
