A set of five antique shoemaker’s tools manufactured from heavy cast iron. The collection comprises four interchangeable shoe lasts of varying sizes and one upright mounting stand. One shoe last is clearly marked with the cast numeral 8 1/2 on the underside. Another last shows evidence of degraded characters that are no longer legible due to surface corrosion. The tools are characteristic of industrial footwear manufacture and repair equipment from the late 19th to early 20th century. Each last features a tapered socket designed to fit the corresponding mounting post.
Condition report:
All items exhibit heavy and uniform surface oxidation and pitting. Despite the significant surface rust, the cast iron remains structurally sound with no visible cracks, breaks, or losses. The mounting sockets are intact, though they may require cleaning for smooth assembly.
