A vintage Stratton “Convertible Compact” designed for solid or loose powder, featuring a gold-toned circular metal body and a white enamel lid. The lid is decorated with a green transfer-printed insignia of the Worcestershire Regiment, depicting a recumbent hart within a garter inscribed “HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE” set upon an eight-pointed star, with a scroll below reading “FIRM”. The interior contains the original paper instruction label from Stratton England detailing the care and use of the compact. The item is accompanied by its original brown suedette protective pouchette printed with a repeated Stratton logo.
Condition report:
The compact is in excellent condition, showing no signs of use or damage to the enamel lid or the metal casing. The interior paper label is well-preserved. The pouchette shows light wear and fraying at the upper opening edges.
