This 1980 United Kingdom decimal proof coin set was issued by the Royal Mint. The set includes six denominations: fifty pence, ten pence, five pence, two pence, one penny, and half penny. Each coin is struck in cupro-nickel or bronze with a proof finish, displaying mirrored fields and frosted devices. The obverses feature the Arnold Machin portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with the legend ELIZABETH II D·G·REG·F·D·1980. The set also contains a square dark metal medallion depicting the Royal Coat of Arms and the inscription ROYAL MINT. The coins are presented in a clear plastic case with a purple textured insert and are accompanied by the original purple card outer sleeve.
Condition report:
Proof. The coins are in pristine condition with no visible toning, milk spots, or carbon spots. The plastic case and outer sleeve are well-preserved with only minor shelf wear to the card.
