A Bank of England Series D ten pound note featuring a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse and Florence Nightingale on the reverse. This pictorial series note bears the signature of Chief Cashier D. H. F. Somerset and the serial number CX87 910706 printed in the top-left and bottom-right corners of the front. The colour palette consists of shades of brown, orange, and tan. The reverse depicts Florence Nightingale (1820-1910) alongside a vignette of a hospital scene. The obverse includes the text BANK OF ENGLAND and the promise to pay the bearer on demand the sum of ten pounds. Security features include an embedded vertical metallic thread and intricate geometric lathe work.


Condition report:

Very Fine. The note shows evidence of circulation including a distinct horizontal centre fold and minor vertical creasing. There is slight discoloration and foxing visible along the top margin and light wear to the corners. The paper remains intact and is free of visible tears or pinholes.
